Towards More Effective Communication
In the last few weeks, I’ve received several emails from co-workers that were well over a page long. As soon as I see that wall of text, I’m instantly filled with dread. After reading each message, I was left with a sense of confusion. What was I supposed to take from that? Is there something I am expected to do now?
Communication is such an incredibly important part of our job. That’s doubly true in a remote company. My plan for today was to write a post about how to improve the messages you send. This morning, however, I saw this article in The New York Times. Instead of trying to make the same points again, I’m just going to link to it. It’s a great read and exactly what I wanted to say.
